About VisaWorld

What this site is

VisaWorld is a free, informational guide to visa and entry requirements for travelers worldwide. Every guide is built from official government sources and is regularly verified for accuracy.

This is general information only — not legal advice, not immigration advice. We explain what the rules are based on official sources; we do not advise you on your specific situation. Always verify with the official embassy or consulate before you travel.

How we source and verify content

  1. Official sources only. Every factual claim links to a primary government source: an embassy website, a national immigration authority, or an official policy notice.
  2. Last-verified dates. Each guide shows when its content was last checked against official sources. Visa rules change — we make the verification date visible so you know how recent the information is.
  3. Prompt updates. When policy changes (like China's visa-free expansion in 2024–2025), we update the affected guides and re-verify sourcing before publishing.

How translations work

All guide content is authored in English first, verified against official sources, then translated using the following pipeline:

  1. Machine translation (MT) via Google Cloud Translation API, applied to all text fields.
  2. Terminology consistency: key visa terms (e.g., "tourist visa," "ordinary passport") are pre-mapped in a language-specific glossary before MT runs, ensuring precise technical vocabulary.
  3. Human review: translated drafts are flagged as "MT-draft" until a reviewer has checked them. Guides marked MT-draft are usable but should be treated as provisional.
  4. Staleness detection: when English source content changes, any translation based on the old version is automatically flagged for re-review.
